Breathwork sits at the heart of what is offered at Mehr Place, not because it is always gentle, but because it is one of the most direct and honest ways to come back into relationship with the body.
In my understanding, breathwork is the conscious and intentional use of the breath to support awareness, presence, and regulation. It is not simply about breathing techniques, but about reconnecting with the body and allowing deeper layers of experience, emotional, physical, and energetic, to be felt and integrated.
At Mehr Place, breathwork is offered across the main categories of practice, allowing sessions to be shaped by what the body needs in the moment. This work is informed by the Rhythm of Breath framework and is held with care, clarity, and respect for each person’s capacity, readiness, and lived experience.
What Is Breathwork at Mehr Place?
Breathwork at Mehr Place is an embodied practice. It is not about performance, forcing release, or trying to “fix” something. Instead, it invites a listening, to breath, sensation, emotion, and the body’s own intelligence.
Depending on the practice and the individual, breathwork may feel grounding and settling, or it may include moments of activation, intensity, or emotional release. Transformational Breathwork uses sustained and rhythmic breathing patterns that can help quiet the analytical mind and connect more directly with the nervous system.
As the breath deepens, unprocessed emotions or tension stored in the body may surface. This is not something to push through or control. It is a natural response when the body feels supported enough to release what has been held.
Why Breathwork Matters at Mehr Place
Many of us move through life primarily in our heads, thinking, managing, coping, and pushing forward. Over time, this can create distance from the body, where tension, emotion, and unresolved experiences quietly accumulate. Mehr Place was created as a space to slow this pattern down.
Breathwork matters here because it brings the body back into the conversation. It offers a way to reconnect, not by forcing change, but by allowing awareness to deepen. Through breath, the body is given permission to express, soften, release, or simply be felt.
This work is not about striving for transformation. It is about creating the conditions where transformation may naturally occur.
How Breathwork Supports the Nervous System
The breath is closely linked to the nervous system. Conscious breathing can influence how the body responds to stress, emotion, and sensation, supporting a shift away from constant alertness and into greater regulation and presence.
In Transformational Breathwork, the experience may include peaks of sensation or activation. People sometimes notice tingling, warmth, emotional waves, physical movement, or a sense of energetic charge. These experiences are not signs that something is wrong — they are part of the body’s natural response as long-held patterns begin to shift.
When held safely, activation can move toward clarity, emotional resilience, and integration. Breathwork supports the nervous system by allowing emotions and sensations to move through the body, rather than remain suppressed or stored.
What to Expect in a Breathwork Session
Each breathwork session at Mehr Place is unique. You may experience deep relaxation, emotional release, heightened awareness, or moments of stillness. There is no right or wrong way for a session to unfold.
Throughout the session, you are guided clearly and gently. Your comfort, boundaries, and pace are respected, and you remain in control of your experience at all times. Space is always given for rest and integration.
If resistance or overwhelm arises, this is met with care. A trauma-informed approach recognises resistance as a form of self-protection and works with it gradually, using pacing and choice to keep the experience manageable and supportive.
A Trauma-Informed and Supported Practice
Transformational Breathwork is a powerful practice, and at Mehr Place, that power is held with respect.
Sessions are facilitated through a trauma-informed, embodied approach that prioritises safety, consent, and the body’s natural limits. Techniques such as working in small, manageable steps and gently moving between comfort and challenge help ensure the process remains supportive rather than overwhelming.
Breathwork is accessible to both beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Sessions are always adapted to meet you where you are, physically, emotionally, and energetically.
A Conscious and Supported Place to Begin
Breathwork at Mehr Place is an invitation, not a promise, and not a performance.
It is a practice of presence, awareness, and listening. One that honours both the intensity and the tenderness of being human.
If you are feeling called to reconnect with your body, explore breath as a doorway into deeper awareness, or experience this work in a grounded and supported way, breathwork may be the place to begin.
You are welcome here.
